What it costs, and why
Everything written on this site is free and always will be. The prayers, the Bible pages, the answers to hard questions. You never need an account to read them. What money buys is conversation: the right to keep typing after thirty messages, and the minutes where a face answers you out loud.

Why video costs money and text mostly does not
A typed message
Costs us a fraction of a cent. That is why thirty a month are free and why the paid plans stop counting them.
A video minute
Renders a face, in real time, on a graphics card we keep running whether anyone is praying or not. It costs us about six cents a minute. That is the whole reason there is a number next to it.
Questions people ask before paying
What happens when my video minutes run out?
The conversation keeps going by text. Nothing is deleted, nothing is locked, and you are not thrown out mid sentence. If you want more minutes before your month resets, five more cost $4.99.
Can I cancel?
Yes, from your account page, without writing to anyone. You keep the plan until the end of the period you already paid for.
Is the free plan a trial?
No. There is no countdown and no card on file. Thirty messages refresh every month for as long as you want to use it that way.
Is it right to charge money for this?
It is a fair question and it deserves a straight answer. Nobody is charging for God, for prayer, or for scripture. Those are free here and free everywhere. What costs money is the software: the servers, the graphics cards, and the people who build and watch over it. We charge for that so the writing on this site can stay free for the people who cannot pay, and so we are not funded by advertising or by selling what you tell us. If the price is the thing standing between you and using this, write to us and we will sort something out.
What do you do with what I say?
Read the privacy policy. The short version is that we do not sell it and we do not advertise against it.
