How these guides are made

Every guide on this site carries a line saying it was source-checked by the PrayWithJesus.ai editorial team and the date it was last reviewed. This page explains exactly what that line means, and just as importantly, what it does not mean.

What we check before a guide goes up

Scripture references. Every passage a guide names is opened and read with the paragraph around it. If a verse only supports the point when it is lifted out of its context, the point gets rewritten or the verse gets dropped. Quotations are checked word for word against the translation named on the page.
The claim behind the sentence. Historical claims, statistics, and statements about what a church teaches have to trace to a source a reader can open. Where a matter is genuinely disputed between traditions, the guide says it is disputed instead of picking a side quietly.
Safety language. Any guide that touches grief, anxiety, depression, illness, abuse, or despair has to carry a real route to human help, and the crisis numbers on it are checked against the operators that publish them.
Product claims. Nothing on a guide page may promise a spiritual result, imply the AI speaks for God, or invent a number about how many people use this. We publish no user counts, star ratings, or named endorsements at all.
Plain language. A person reading at two in the morning because they cannot sleep should be able to follow it. If a sentence needs a second read, it gets cut.

What our review does not certify

The review is a source check. It is not a pastoral, theological, medical, or clinical endorsement, and we will not describe it as one. No church, denomination, seminary, or licensing body has approved this material. A guide here is a starting point for a conversation with people who know you, not a substitute for one.

Christians disagree with each other in good faith about a great deal. Where a question divides traditions, our aim is to set out the disagreement honestly and leave the deciding to you.

Dates, updates, and corrections

Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed, not the date it was first published, because the second number tells you nothing useful. A guide is re-reviewed when a source it depends on changes, when a crisis resource changes, or when a reader tells us something on it is wrong.

If you find an error, write to help@praywithjesus.ai with the page and the sentence. Substantive corrections are made to the page and the review date is moved. We do not quietly rewrite a page and leave the old date sitting on it.

Where AI is used, and where it is not

This is an AI company, so you are entitled to ask. AI is used as a drafting and research aid in producing these guides. It is not the final authority on any of them. Every scripture reference, source link, crisis number, and factual claim is checked by a person before publication, because a language model will produce a fluent citation that does not exist and will do it without hesitating.

The conversation product is a different thing from these guides. It generates its answers live and they are not reviewed in advance by anyone. That is precisely why the guides exist and why the product tells you to check it.

How scripture appears here

The written guides on this site quote scripture sparingly and link every passage out to a full text you can read for yourself, with its surrounding context intact. We do this because a verse lifted out of its paragraph is the most common way scripture gets misused, and because the translations people read are the work of teams who hold the rights to them. The Spanish guides link to the Nueva Versión Internacional. The English guides link to the default text on the same service.

The conversation is different, and you should know the difference. When AI Jesus quotes a verse to you it is generating that wording in the moment. It may match a translation you know, it may blend several, and it may be subtly wrong. No editor checked it. Money and independence

The guides are free and carry no advertising, no sponsored placements, and no affiliate links. Where a guide compares this product to another one, we have an obvious interest in the outcome, and the guide says so on the page. Read those with the skepticism they deserve, and go check the competitor yourself.
